News: Island Lifestyle Importers Releasing Island Club Cigars

Happy Independence Day! Here’s another news item from Island Lifestyle Importers! I smoked a sample of this last week and wrote about it in last Sunday’s post. I really enjoyed it and the price is incredible, a premium cigar at a budget price. Read on:

Island Lifestyle Importers is releasing for national distribution the “Island Club” line of cigars at this year’s International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers (IPCPR) Convention in Las Vegas. The Island Club cigar is comprised of all aged Nicaraguan filler and binder tobacco and wrapped in a beautiful Ecuadorian Connecticut leaf with a covered foot. These cigars are manufactured in a boutique factory in Esteli, Nicaragua by 9 pairs of dedicated rollers.

The line consists of five sizes: Robusto 5×52, Corona Gorda 5⅝x46, Toro 6×52, Torpedo 6⅛x52, Churchill 7×52 and packaged in bundles of 20 cigars. The cigars carry a notably low suggested retail price of $3.95 – $4.75.

The Island Club Connecticut is a mild to medium cigar in strength but has multiple layers of complex flavors. “While many Connecticut cigars have a grassy or bitter taste, these Island Club cigars have notable flavors of light spice, leather and tea. The side squeeze trigger mechanism makes for easy function. It is being released with a black body on gunmetal frame and a blue body on a gunmetal frame. The suggested retail is $49.99.

Podcast: CigarCraig Podcast Episode Four

In this, the fourth episode of the CigarCraig podcast, I present another recap of the Drew Estate Pennsylvania Barnsmoker held Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Strasburg, PA., this time with Pedro Gomez, Drew Estate’s Factory Spokesman. Pedro talks to me about the event. A full recap of the event can be found here. I had hoped to talk with a few other people at the event, but everyone there is so busy, it’s hard to get people to get a few minutes uninterrupted, which, you’ll hear, didn’t even happen with Pedro, who was very generous with his time (we go way back!). Barnsmoker’s are a good time, a great mix of education, good food and smokes a great people. If there’s one you can get to, I recommend attending one if you can. I can hardly imagine one being disappointed if one were a fan of anything cigar related.
