Happy Thursday everyone! I have two days of work and a holiday party to get through this week then I have two weeks off to celebrate the holidays and try to get some things done around the house (including getting packages shipped and perhaps delivered). I’m really looking forward to the time off! I smoked an Arandoza White Label robusto last night and it was really good, a little spice, great burn, a real winner. Speaking of winners, the winner of the box of Arandoza White Doble Coronas is Rich M! Please send me your shipping info so so I can get this out to you. It’s going to be a White Christmas for Rich (someone left that in a comment, well done!). Today we have another personal favorite of mine, so let’s get on with it!
Foundry Tobacco Company
Day 8 brings us an oldie but goodie! Foundry Tobacco Company is a boutique within General Cigar Co., headed up by Michael Giannini. Their original release is the steam punk themed Foundry, which featured rarely used tobaccos, none of which come from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua or Mexico. The wrapper is an eight year old tobacco called H-47 Pleno Sol, developed by General Cigar. It’s a unique and complex cigar, and the Cayley is a unique shape. It’s a figurado listed at 6½” x 60 x 56 x 43. This is a box of 24 cigars. Many have said this was a gimmicky cigar but I really love everything from the Foundry line, it’s different and innovative. Many thanks to Victoria at General Cigar Co. for providing this excellent box of cigars.
Rules
All you have to do to enter is to leave a comment on that day’s post and if you like, in one sentence tell us what comes to mind when you think of Foundry Cigars. It’s not a condition to win, but I’d like for the folks who make this all possible to come away with some consumer feedback. Also, be sure to visit the links for each item. Comments on Facebook, Twitter, or anywhere else will not count, but feel free to spread the word!
Until tomorrow,
CigarCraig
This would surely make a nice gift for yours truly.
I’ve enjoyed a number of Foundry cigar offerings. I certainly could use more.
Love these cigars, always a great smoke. Also enjoying some of the element series, haven’t found them all yet, but have enjoyed the ones I have.
Best time of year, your contest. Haven’t burned foundry, yet.
Foundry: Inexpensive solid cigars
Gimmicky or not, the Foundry offerings that I’ve had (courtesy of CigarCraig) were outstanding smokes. A box of these things would look nice perched in my humidor !!!
Merry Christmas to all !!!
Oooo pick me me, I will be your winner! These look absolutely amazing!
Very cool band and box. Very eye-catching.
That’s a very cool looking cigar – so is the box. Christmas wish – me the winner!
Interesting smoke. I’d love to sample this. Where is the tobacco grown?
A cigar and a free ring wicked
Just wanted to say thanks for the contest . It’s great to get up every morning have a coffee and read about cigars and the joy the bring to us all here.
I absolutely loved the Foundry Lovelace – different and quirky, but most excellent! Thanks!
Out there is how I would describe Foundry. Mike has a way of bringing some twisted and interesting lines. I’m a huge fan of Foundry. Thanks Craig and good luck everyone.
I must have! Must have! Must have! Must have! Must have!
I have yet to try one of these but I will as soon as my local shop has them. I create a lot of steam punk art and Foundry is well know in the steam punk community because of their cool style, their unique shaped cigars and their cool boxes.
Foundry Cigars has good value cigars. This is an interesting shape. Thanks Craig.
just made room for these!
I haven’t had these yet, but the concept is intriguing to me.
When I think Foundry Cigars I also think innovation.
Big “cool factor”.
Keep them coming.
One of my fav smokes!
When i think of foundry, I think under rated.
How can you not think science, the elements, quirky, different, unique, etc. Marching to the beat of their own drum for sure. Would love to try some of their sticks.
Foundry cigars, like CigarCraig, are Titans of the industry!
I love this Cigar!
One of my favorites!
I agree with you Craig, I like the entire line from Foundry cigar!
Great looking box. Very good cigars Different is good
Thanks for contest
I Never had one but it looks like I should. Most interestingly looking cigar I have seen in a while.
Never tried a Foundry, would like to
I had one of these at the IPCPR show and also really enjoyed it. Interesting concept they have
When I think of Foundry I automatically think unique and that is a good thing. Michael seems to be a really cool guy and has a great team working with him. I always enjoy smoking Foundry cigars. Construction is always spot on and the cigar bands and gears keeps me interested.
this looks interesting
Actually, I associate Foundry Cigars with Craig VanderSlice, I see you smoking more of these than anyone else.
OH OH pick me…got busy yesterday and missed out.
Da Mayor
I would love to spread the Foundry cigars around to all the good little boys and girls.
Awesome cigar and one, for me that not only looks cool but smokes well!
Thank you Craig for offering these and thank you Ms V & GCC for delivering on a great smoke!
I have tried some of the Foundry line, also courtesy of Miss V. I really liked the one I had but that Cayley shape adds some great visual appeal. I also like the rings and would like to get enough so I can fill both fists, Sons of Anarchy style.
Load torpedos!
when i think of Foundry cigars, i think of SCIENCE!
Foundry is easily one of the best cigar lines I’ve found in a long time.
Would love to have it just to stare at, nice looking box…
Foundry Cigars offer a consistent and fairly priced cigar line that I have always enjoyed.
I’m a big fan of what Foundry is doing.
only “24” ? better than “12”.
Seen them in Corona’s but haven’t tried one yet.
Looks Good, I and I Like the Band
Even if I don’t win anything I love these little known brands you’re putting out there. Gotta try them all.
Love foundry cigars. Very unique and tasty
These would go great in my humidor.
Foundry makes some of the most unique vitolas I’ve ever seen.
That gear and thinking outside the box in marketing is what I think of when I hear Foundry.
Great prize
Michael is a really nice guy. Good one..
The foundry Lovelace was one of the first cigars I ever smoked and I really enjoyed it! I would love to have more cigars from this brand!
I’ve wanted to try these for a while.
Foundry cigars are solid. I’ve only had one and it was great. As always I’d love to win this.
When I see these guys I think of the semi-fanatical manner my podcast co-host regards these things. They’d make a great communal box for us. Thanks for the giveaway again, Craig!
I don’t need a sentence, only one word, Innovation.
I know I can’t win again this year, but Michael Giannini’s cigars are just plain fun. Interesting themes like Foundry & Elements seem like ideal ways for a creative mind like Michael’s & his team to come up with new flavor & shape combinations. And we are the happy beneficiaries!! So to all the naysayers, Bah Humbug!
The Foundry line is so unlike anything else on the market. Sometimes different can be good.
Awesome giveaway!! Thanks for the chance…
these look awesome, unique, thanks for the giveaway!
Foundry makes the most fun interesting cigars on the market. I love everyone I have had and even bought a box of plutonium
As a friend of mine always says “Did I win!”
Can’t wait to get one
Never had a bad Foundry, and I love finding creative uses for the great rings.
Love me some foundry cigars…merry Christmas:)
Foundry always seems to be a hit or miss, good give away none the less.
Very different.
A slow, rich smoke.
Foundry is unique and excellent!
I love Foundry cigars!
Underestimated cigars! Thanks for the contest!
Love the Foundry cigars that I’ve smoked in the past. This one is yet another example of the innovative product ideas coming from Michael Giannini and General Cigars which, in my opinion, is the leader in the industry on so many fronts. Many thanks to GCC for all you do for your loyal customers. A special acknowledgement to Miss Victoria for her support of Ward B.
These seem interesting and I would love to give them a try.
Interesting shape, love the box.
Foundry Treasure
Holy crap! I love the Foundry! Only have 1 Cayley left too! No Whammies! Thanks Craig!
These look delicious
Makes me think of industrial music…
These are tasty.. I’ve had others from this company..
Foundry are some of my favorite cigars with their complex and unique blends of flavors and all the unique things they try with the new limited blends every year; this was one of my favorite finds of 2013 and continued smoking them since!
Definitely a unique looking cigar.
I feel the same way, Craig. I have yet to find a dud within the Foundry line. Solid smokes all around. Michael knows what he’s doing.
my first Foundry was very good. I would love to hand out a few to my BOTL local group
Would love to try these. General has added some nice lines to their portfolio. And you can use the box to store all the nuts, bolts, and washers that don’t come with the cigars.
That is one interesting looking cigar shape. Hope to win ’em…
Steam punk
Clearly The Foundry goes where the brave dare not go and I want to go there with them.
Another I have never had, and I finally know who uses those cool cigar rings.
Imaginative, daring, and a bit gimmicky. I like how they source lesser used or known tobaccos in an attempt to find unique flavors.
Foundry cigars have been hit or miss for me, haven’t tried this one but would definitely give it a look
I personally don’t like that style, but its what’s inside that counts. Just got my Gurkha Blue, Legend, and Symphony, put these baby’s to rest, just in time for X-mas
Unique shape and intriguing yes in deed!
Foundry has always been interesting and innovative in their use of aesthetics. Even the box looks cool. Thanks for the contest once again!
Have one resting in the humidor. Haven’t smoked any yet. But I like the cool rings.
My brother enjoyed some of the Foundry cigars. I heard about this thing they’re supposedly doing with the gears where if you get all the different ones it makes a working object. Sounds cool to me.
Never tried them but the reviews are spectacular.
Ho Ho Fargin Ho!!!!!!!
Lets just say these cigars are very UNIQUE (to say the least). Mike G. uses some odd/crazy tobacco and is really doing some “different” things in the industry that always has me scratching my head.
