CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2015 Last Day: The Cigartist

OK, seriously, this is really the last day. I’m not kidding. This one is going to run a little longer than the rest, I’ll pick a winner on Sunday, so be sure to check back.  This is a very special item, and original painting by Eric Whitfield, The Cigartist! This painting is titled “Wind” and is 16″ x 20″ acrylic on stretched canvas.  This is a serious piece of art, selling on his website for $350, so it’s a very generous offering from Eric, and some lucky person will have this to hang in his home.  Eric has all of his exceptional pieces on his site, so check it out and purchase some.  I’m sure he can work with you on custom work as well.  This really should be some sort of charity auction or something, but I don’t know a good way of doing that! I’m expecting that only people who really want this painting are going to enter, as this should definitely got to a loving home!

Yesterday we added an extra day, which we’ve done in the last two years as well, and it was some Drew Estate Kentucky Fire Cured Fat Mollys and a matching Sterling Silver necklace.  I, kind of begrudgingly, smoked a Fat Molly yesterday, and it was pretty darned good. I’ve not been a fan of the KFCs in the past, and I still don’t like that campfire aroma, but it was not bad at all, and it burned perfectly.  I have a few more floating around the humidors that I won’t be afraid to smoke now.  Hopefully Miguel Rocha is also a fan, because he’s the winner and needs to send me his address!  Thanks to Broc as well as the crew at DE for making day 13 special! Don’t forget to visit Broc’s site and check out all his great jewelry!

You know what to do now, leave a comment here, check back Sunday to see if you won!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2015 Day 13: Drew Estate and Broc Jackson

Regular readers will know that around here it’s never over until it’s over! So today is bonus day number one (infer from that what you will), and today we have some great gifts I think you’re going to like. From our friends at Drew Estate, we have not one, but two 10 count bundles of MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured Fat Molly, the 5″ x 56 chunky, oh, wait, that’s the name of another size in the line, chubby robusto featuring the fire cured Kentucky tobacco, giving it a unique smoky flavor.  As if that wasn’t a great enough item for today’s giveaway, Broc Jackson, the jeweler who makes the great Drew Estate rings and pendants that Jonathan Drew and his team wear, has provided a hand made, silver Kentucky Fire Cured pendant and chain. Broc’s work can be found here, and he can be reached at kensingtonwatchservices(at)yahoo.com. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s a beautiful piece. He offers a one year warranty on his work and also does custom pieces.  Retail value is $290 on the pendant, and the Fat Molly’s go for about $64 each, so this is a very nice gift indeed.

Yesterday I had the great pleasure of hand delivering two of the presents again this year. I met Mike and Andrew, winners of days 5 and 6, at a local shop, spent way more than the cost of postage, but it’s OK, I’d rather support my local brick and mortar shop. The winner of the day 12 Gurkha package is Chad Miller. I secretly hope that he is local as this will cost me a fortune to ship! Chad, send me your info!  Thanks again to Bianca and everyone at Gurkha!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2015 Day 12: Gurkha

It’s finally here, Day 12, and boy do we have a bunch of stuff for the lucky winner!  Gurkha always comes through with great stuff for under the tree and in the stockings, and this year is no different. Where to start?  Well, there’s a box of the East India Trading Co. Classic Cigar Havana Blend No. 359 Lancero. This is a box of twenty 7″ x 42 cigars, and if they are anything like their robusto cousins, which I smoke often, they are very good, with some surprising flavors. I’ll be looking for some of these to try.  If that wasn’t enough, there a great red ceramic ashtray, a survival knife that my youngest son has, in the past, described as “Bad Ass”, a really cool Barracuda dual flame torch lighter with a flip out punch cutter, and wrap it all up (literally, if you like) in a huge Gurkha flag!  THAT is a load of great stuff!  Everything you need to cut, light, ash and enjoy a great cigar.  Thank you to Bianca at Gurkha for today’s presents!

Today’s going to be a busy day I think! I’m meeting not one, but two reasonable local winners to deliver presents today, and need to get Schon’s goodies packed and shipped.  But I’m sure you’re waiting to hear who won the Azon cigars and cutter, right?  I need to hear from advicefromarecruiter with his address so I can pass it on to Jack at Duran Premium Cigars! Congrats, enjoy, and Happy Holidays! Thanks again to Jack, he was one of the first to enthusiastically come on board this year!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2015 Day 11: Duran Premium Cigars

Today we have something quite special from Duran Premium Cigars.  The Azan brand originated in Cuba in 1928, started by Chinese immigrants to the island. The brand was brought back from relative obscurity by Roberto P. Duran, who’s wife descended from the family who founded the brand.  Today’s lucky winner will receive a ten count box of the Azan White Premium, a delicious cigar with a Ecuador Corojo wrapper around a blend of Nicaraguan and Brazilian fillers, a ten count box of the Azan Natural Maduro, with a dark, oily Maduro Corojo wrapper, and an Azan Xikar Xi1 cutter, provide your own fire and have many hours of enjoyment. The cigars are the Robusto Extra size, which is 5½” x 52. Thanks to Jack Toraño and Roberto P. Duran for providing this terrific gift.

Yesterday’s present was the Leccia Luchador El Gringo in the Frogsplash size. I smoked one (again, not from the box, it’s still sealed) and it was a very good smoke and burned for about an hour and a half. The worst part about it is that one feels that one still has a lot of tobacco left over when it gets too small to handle!  I’m a big fan of the Luchador line, and I suspect the lucky winner today will be too.  I need Schon Garrison to send me his address so I can ship this box off to him! Thanks again to Sam and Victoria at General Cigar Co. for sending this along!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2015 Day 10: Leccia Luchador

Here we are at Day 10 already! Last night my wife and I went out on the town, and ended up at Cigars International‘s Super Store in Hamburg, PA where they were holding an event with Sam Leccia and the MWF (Micro Wrestling Federation).  They had a 12 foot x 12 foot  ring in the center of the store and  the place was packed.  Sam greeted us at the door and we bought some Leccia Luchador cigars and hung out upstairs taking in the whole event. There were four rounds, one of which was a tag team, with much profanity and trash talking.  It was hysterical, not at all politically correct, and loads of fun!  There are a few pictures here to give you a little bit of an idea what was going on.  Of course, the main event here today is the giveaway, which is a box of Leccia Luchador El Gringo Frogsplash (and I saw that move last night!).  The Frogsplash is a 4½” x 70 box pressed cigar, featuring a dark Nicaraguan wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. The box press makes the 70 ring gauge quite manageable, and it’s a very flavorful smoke. I smoked the Squared Circle, a box pressed torpedo, last night and it was really good.  Thanks again to Victoria at General Cigar Co. for sending this great Day 10 present, and to Sam for his hospitality last night and for making great cigars!

Yesterday we had a great pair of gifts from Smoke Inn, the latest in their Micro-blend series, Illusione Pactum and Drew Estate’s Pope of Greenwich Village.  The winner is a long time reader and a name I hear often in other social media outlets as a reader and listener, one who participates in chat rooms and comments. Swede214 is the winner, Carl, please send me your address so I can get these great cigars out to you!
