CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2014 Day 12: Arandoza Cigars

It’s hard to believe it’s day 12 already! Lots of cigars and goodies given away and more to come!  Yesterday I delivered the Day 1 present to Adam.  I met him at To’Makao in Bethlehem, PA and handed off the goodies!  I love it when I can save on shipping and meet another great cigar friend in person! On the way up I smoked my first CAO Columbia and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was mellow and flavorful. The lucky winner of the box of CAO Colombia  Bogota is Frank Germaine. Please send me your address!  Let’s move along to Day 12, and a great Day 12 it is!

Arandoza Cigars

ArandozaRed

Day 12 of CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of CigarGiveaways brings us the third offering from Arandoza Cigars.  The Arandoza Red Label features a spicy San Andrés wrapper and is a strong, delicious cigar. Once again, this comes from the La Zona factory in Esteli. In addition to the Mexican maduro wrapper, it has a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan triple ligero filler.  I really like all the cigars in the Arandoza line, but the Red Label is my favorite.  Many thanks to Robert Arango at Arandoza Cigars for his enthusiastic support this year!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2014 Day 11: CAO Cigars

Yesterday was the last Saturday before Christmas, big shopping day, I guess. I managed to get some presents shipped out and while the post office was crazy, the stores didn’t seem too bad.  If I may offer a piece of advice to the contest entrants: please use a good e-mail address on your comment!  I prefer that the winner drop me a note with his info, but after a couple days without hearing I senT an e-mail, and it was undeliverable. Rich M, if you’re out there, drop me a note so I can get you your box of Arandoza cigars!  I’m sure there will be plenty of people willing to take your place!  Anyway the winner of the Fleur de la Reine from Day 10 is Andrew CussonPlease let me know where to have the folks at United Cigar Retailers send your lovely box of cigars!  Let’s see what Day 11 has in store for us:

CAO Cigars

Colombia_Box_LowRes

Day 11 brings us another offering from General Cigar Co., the newest selection from CAO.  The CAO Columbia has Colombian and Brazilian fillers, Cameroon binder and a wrapper from the Jamastran valley in Honduras.  The Bogota is a 6″ x 60 and is presented in a box of 20 cigars.  This is a cigar I have yet to smoke. I may see if I can find one to smoke today, it sounds really interesting.  Thanks again to Victoria and the folks at General Cigar Co. for putting this under the tree today!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2014 Day 10: United Cigar Retailers

It’s finally the weekend!  I’m now on vacation for two weeks and will be able to get some packages shipped and some projects finished around the house. I have plenty to do to keep me busy!  Anyway, Random.org didn something I haven’t had happen since I’ve been using it, I punched in 137 and it returned 137. So the last comment is the day 9 winner! It made it very easy for me as I didn’t have to count entries! The winner of the Nomad Connecticut Fuerte is Travis Reynolds. Please send your address.  I  still have a few people I need to hear from, so please send your addresses to me Rich M and Steve W! Let’s proceed to Day 10!

United Cigar Retailers

Fleur de la Reine

It’s Day 10, and today we have an offering from United Cigar Retailers and Two Guys Smokeshop.  Once again, it’s Saturday, and, depending on when you read this, you can tune in to The Cigar Authority and hear David Garofalo, Mr. Jonathan, Chuck Morrison and Barry Stein. The show airs from Noon to 2 eastern time. I listen to the podcast every week, it’s infotainment at it’s best.  Today’s present is a proprietary brand from United Cigar Retailers, the Fleur de la Reine (box of 20).  The Fleur de la Reine Cinq is a 5½ x 54 robusto with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Dominican binder and Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. It’s a rich, spicy, full flavored cigar which Barry Stein gives a 93 on The Cigar Authority. Thanks to Dave and the folks at United Cigar Retailers/2 Guys Smokeshop for providing today’s present!

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2014 Day 9: Nomad Cigars

Welcome to Friday, Day 9 and my last day of work for the year!  I’ll still be getting up early for the next few days to do this, butI won’t have to run out the door when I’m done!  Last night my employer had our holiday party, so I didn’t get my evening walk in, but I smoked a Foundry War of Currents West Orange on the way there.  Like all the Foundry cigars, this is a unique cigar with bright flavors, and an aromatic room note (car note). I enjoyed the crap out of it, much like I’m sure Steve W will enjoy the Cayleys that he won! Please send me your address!  Now, on to number 9, number 9…

Nomad Cigar Company

Nomad

Day 9 features an outstanding boutique cigar from Fred Rewey’s Nomad Cigar Company.  New this year is the Connecticut Fuerte, featuring an Ecuador Connecticut wrapper, Ecuador Habano binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. This isn’t a mild Connecticut cigar at all, it’s got a little bit of power to it, hence the “Fuerte” designation.  It’s not going to blow your head off, it’s balanced and flavorful. The Corona is 5½” x 44 and the come in boxes of 20. In addition to the box of cigars is a Nomad T-shirt (Lg) and some stickers. Many thanks to Fred for providing this great gift.

CigarCraig’s 12 Spectacular Days of Cigar Giveaways 2014 Day 8: Foundry Cigars

Happy Thursday everyone!  I have two days of work and a holiday party to get through this week then I have two weeks off to celebrate the holidays and try to get some things done around the house (including getting packages shipped and perhaps delivered). I’m really looking forward to the time off!  I smoked an Arandoza White Label robusto last night and it was really good, a little spice, great burn, a real winner. Speaking of winners, the winner of the box of Arandoza White Doble Coronas is Rich M! Please send me your shipping info so so I can get this out to you. It’s going to be a White Christmas for Rich (someone left that in a comment, well done!). Today we have another personal favorite of mine, so let’s get on with it!

Foundry Tobacco Company

Print

Day 8 brings us an oldie but goodie!  Foundry Tobacco Company is a boutique within General Cigar Co., headed up by Michael Giannini. Their original release is the steam punk themed Foundry, which featured rarely used tobaccos, none of which come from the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua or Mexico. The wrapper is an eight year old tobacco called H-47 Pleno Sol, developed by General Cigar. It’s a unique and complex cigar, and the Cayley is a unique shape. It’s a figurado listed at 6½” x 60 x 56 x 43.  This is a box of 24 cigars. Many have said this was a gimmicky cigar but I really love everything from the Foundry line, it’s different and innovative.  Many thanks to Victoria at General Cigar Co. for providing this excellent box of cigars.
